WhatIsRabies.com is a global rabies awareness initiative founded and operated by Joshua, based in Dublin, Ireland. Our mission is to provide free educational resources about rabies prevention worldwide. Contact: [email protected]
2. What Information We Collect
We collect only the minimum information needed to operate this site:
- Contact form submissions: name, country, email, and message when you choose to contact us.
- Ambassador & story applications: name, country, email, and the information you voluntarily submit in those forms.
- Donation information: when you donate via Stripe, Stripe processes your payment. We receive only your name, donation amount, and email to send a receipt. We do not store card details — Stripe handles all payment data under their own Privacy Policy.
- Analytics: we use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use the site. This uses anonymised data (page views, device type, country). No personally identifiable information is collected through analytics.
- Cookies: GA4 sets analytics cookies. No advertising or tracking cookies are used.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To respond to your contact form or application messages.
- To send donation receipts and recognition badges.
- To coordinate the Ambassador Programme and community stories.
- To understand site usage and improve our educational content.
- We do not use your information for advertising or marketing without explicit consent.
4. Who We Share Data With
We do not sell your data. We share limited information only with:
- Stripe — for secure payment processing. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
- Google Analytics — anonymised site usage data. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- Cloudflare — for website delivery and security.
- Formspree — if you submit a contact form, your message is processed via Formspree.
5. Data Retention
We retain contact and application data for as long as necessary to respond to your enquiry or coordinate your participation. Donation records are retained for 7 years for accounting purposes. You may request deletion at any time.

As a user in the EU/EEA, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten").
- Object to or restrict processing of your data.

Our site contains educational content for children, but we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 without parental consent. Our service providers (Stripe, Google, Cloudflare) may process data outside the EU. All operate under Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent GDPR-compliant mechanisms.

We may update this policy as the site grows. Material changes will be noted at the top of this page with an updated date. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance.
